Friday Funnies:

In almost all situations, laughter is good for the body and soul. There is a "tickle response" that evokes laughter, and is defined in medicine a one of the slightest pain signals, but non response laughter happens when something is "funny". Funny may be shocking, surprising, clever, but for whatever reason we find something funny, the laughter is a release of tension and stress and promotes a happier neurochemistry. My main problem in doing standup is to avoid all the cheap tricks of the modern standup. No jokes based upon the "isms" of society.

Growing up in "white" Portland, I had an earful of racist, sexist, ethnic and religious humor. I also have a near photographic memory for jokes; so many retreads from older times. Probably more than 80 percent of the jokes I have heard make some negative reference to "other groups". I will do my best to neuter or select only family appropriate humor.
