Friday Funny's:

Almost 23 years ago, our world was turned upside down on September 11th, 2001. For three days, no planes flew overhead, a rare quiet. For months, late night television did not know how to add humor to our new life-scapes. Awkward, and deemed inappropriate, one of the "best medicines" was actually taboo. Today feels a lot like September of 2001. The war's, conflict's and chaos of today has a morbid familiarity to those who remember the past. My mother was asked to address her congregation, sharing the similarities of 9-11 with the attack on Pearl Harbor.

A peace keeper, Helen did not believe in an eye for an eye diplomacy, and her parallels to WWII were skepticism's of authority, not retaliation to an evil enemy of the people and nation.

Comedy today, has a non-critical, non-cynical formula that rarely penetrates the teflon armor of the current world leader's. Investigative reporting is a rare phenomenon, and revelations soon become lore and legend. The beat goes on, and rather than dancing, we choose to march in step, the the choreography is hideous.

Laughter as medicine, is one of the sweetest spoonful's of syrup that we know. It relaxes our muscles, distract's our overthinking minds, and sometimes even leads us to tears. It can also be a lynch pin of change, and for that I am thankful. May we all laugh our way into a better, more forgiving, more compassionate world. May our grandchildren thrive with our change of ways. May we lightly tread upon the sunny side of the street.
