Friday Funny's:

It is said, that behind every great man, is a great woman. Perchance is should be "under" every great man, there is found a great woman. The theme of the eternal battle of the sexes is a cynical look at our history, and reinforced by the current Republican National Convention. With Trump as an overlord, all the player's have spread their leg's and dawned cheerleader outfit's, pom pom's included. The Queen has not yet shown her face, but the princes and princesses are firmly entrenched in the RNC activities.

Divide and conquer is a tenet of every "art of war", and the established societal imbalances, between the sexes, assures that one side will retain power. Women earn less, often with a greater work load. Women suffer a much greater insult from domestic violence, with male dominated institutions of policing and judicial oversight. Reproductive health for women is democratically and religiously dominated by a misogynistic one two punch of male dominated authority. Women are entitled to be enraged. Change is long, long overdue.

Ever since the ages of the ancient Greeks and the Egyptian's the concept of opposites dominated the attempts at understanding nature, and natural science. Up versus down, concave versus convex, black and white, and more. In this frame of reference, male and female exists as historical opposites. This is a terrible contradiction to natural law, and creates a win or lose foundation within our species. The way of history is to hold women inferior and forever in obedience and servitude. Uppity women are chastised, given the scarlet letter or stoned to death. Disobedient women are challenged as witches and heretics, and burned at the stake in the more recent history.

In Europe, only boys and men were allowed on stage, and standup for women is a recent phenomenon. Self deprecation and sexual innuendo's are the easy laugh but turning the mirror on men in this messed up culture would be the jester's way, and were so many men not controlling the entertainment world, this type of humor would be everywhere. Maybe this is a change that is needed, cynical or not, to begin having men laugh at their ridiculous blindspots and misguided ways. Here's to the next great female satirist, with a great man beneath her feet.
