Friday Funny's: Laughter is the best medicine:

Reader''s Digest is now in its 102nd year of print, now also on line. It always contained two pages of jokes under the section; Laughter is the best medicine. My mother was given a life-time subscription for being valedictorian in her senior graduating class. By then she had red every book that interested her in the school library, granted it probably had a graduating class of around 40. Even her 80's she could complete the Sunday New York Times Crossword puzzle in under 5 minutes. None of our magazine subscriptions had a rank order of reading, so I would always be the first to open up the digest. First going to the 5, two-page joke sections, and then to the table of contents to see which if any story's interested me.

In 1922, they did not invent the phrase "Laughter is the best medicine", nothing new under the sun, don't you know. Laughter is one of the basic human actions of self healing. Dance and movement is another basic human self-care function or activity. Music, in close alignment with prayer and meditation, is yet another element of self care. Laughter lightens emotional distress, dance elevates the physical, and music, prayer and meditation elevate the spiritual. Unification of body, mind and spirit is fundamental tenet of our highest life potential's.

Retuning to world principles of humankind and the 7 elemental stairs that we destined to climb, no matter how many dozen lifetime's we must doddle or scale the mountain peaks to end our human dualities Dance and laughter relieve the pelvis, and the tummy. Sunlight and embracing loving kindness and compassion relieve the liver, heart and lungs, and music, meditation and prayer opens the truth of our word, the lightness of our being and the bliss of the surrender of our pride.

There are operating manuals and principles applied to all three of our states. The body requires nourishment, rest, water and air to go very far, at all. It needs movement, not too much, and not too little. The emotion's need the company of trusted friends, good conversations and trust. Family is the source of our learning about conversation, but they may or may not serve as the needed emotional comfort, and may actually have contributed to our emotional distress. Spiritually, there are so many good paths to follow. Take a path, if you like what it is revealing, continue on, but always be open to returning to the crossroads, and seeing if another path holds better truth and consequences.

I hope I succeed in sharing at least a little humor in today's live podcast.
