HLS Sunday Gathering:

Gratitude, thanksgiving in the bible, or giving thanks in nearly all religions is a highly revered practice. It is the way of living for the mindful students of past and present. The Bhagavad Gita provides this verse: The manifestation of the mode of goodness can be experienced when all the gates of the body are illuminated by knowledge. sarva-dvāreṣu dehe ' ...In this passage, we are told that there is goodness in the world, which represents a spiritual connection between man and God, and that this recognition results in self love and gratitude.

In the Talmud we find:

4. Psalm 103:2–5

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

And in the New Testament, we read:

6. Philippians 4:6–7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

From the Quran,

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:152): "So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me." Allah encourages believers to remember Him and be grateful, promising to remember and acknowledge them in return. Surah Al-Nahl (16:18): "And if you should count the favor of Allah, you could not enumerate them.

From the Upanishad's:

The Self is the source of abiding joy. Our hearts are filled with joy in seeing him enshrined in the depths of our consciousness. If he were not there, who would breathe, who live? He it is who fills every heart with joy.”

“The Self is in all. He is all the gods, the five elements, earth, air, fire, water, and space; all creatures, great or small, born of eggs, of wombs, of heat, of shoots, horses, cows, elephants, men, and women; All beings that walk, all beings that fly, and all that neither walk nor fly.”

“The Self is hidden in the hearts of all, as butter lies hidden in cream. Realize the Self in the depths of meditation, The Lord of Love, supreme reality, who is the goal of all knowledge.”

I blogged on the Stoic waking practices, and it to reflect, #1 recognize the transient nature of life. In this our awakening commands gratitude. Gratitude is one of the states found in non duality. To find non duality, we need to strive to know our true self, with its spirit and eternal soul.

John 10:10 as landing this week. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full
