HLS Sunday Gathering:

Feeling the divine, is not a bad definition for awe. A sense of grandeur at times, the delicate wonderment of a birth and a new life, the aroma of a rose, these feelings can be overpowering or simply sweet. Nature provides us nearly endless gifts of simple pleasures and yet are inclined to get lonely if we have no other's in our lives. Hence the benefits of a weekly gathering. Some gather within church's, mosque's, temple's and synagogue's, other's gather in friend's halls, Kingdom Halls and ecstatic dance circles.

The union's gave us the weekend, but our own natures provided the one day of rest. Not a Sabbath, though Friday, Saturday and Sunday gathering's are often referred to as the Sabbath. We gather for all sorts of reason's. Some gather for praise, worship and celebration, some gather to be seen, other's to be in service, and still other's to be part of a community. The observations that led to the naming of Stockholm Syndrome, acquired through severe isolation, let's us see how critical some human contact is to our well being.

Our gatherings usually provide all the above and more. Music is inspiring and healing, giving thanks, and seeking to forgive are healing, some leader's inspire through their words and this too can be of benefit. Just the security of knowing that you have a community that includes and cares about you is healing.

The church was the first source of hospitality (hospital's), though our medical system is now 100% secular, close to atheistic, and driven by money and profits. There is no compassion, and there is no hospitality. The bitter herbs and dietary foundations of our sacred teaching's have been replaced by poisonous "medicines", surgery's, radiation, altered foods, toxic ingestions of air, water and food, and a system of nutrition that is based solely on what is grown, and how it can be divided amongst the masses, with the very best reserved for the rich and powerful,

So we gather to live, to prosper, to seek relief, to help and serve other's, to move, dance, sing and play music, and most importantly to seek faith, and through this hope for a good life.
