Inspired Tuesday's:

Today, I speak of the wisdom of the Buddha.

One of my favorite quotes is his saying: When you have found true friends, your journey is half complete, and again; “The root of suffering is attachment.” “We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make our world.”. “The mind is everything; what you think, you become.” Control of your thought's has always held superior, to control of your words and actions. This has always been the radical view of the true philosopher's of the ages, Socrates and Paracelsus emphasized this truth/belief. With a disciplined mind, the tongue does not slip, and the beast does not step forth in action.

“Meditation brings wisdom; lack of meditation leaves ignorance. Know well what leads you forward and what hold you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom.” “The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.” “A man is not called wise because he talks and talks again; but if he is peaceful, loving, and fearless then he is in truth called wise.” “It is not enough to be compassionate. You must act.” “The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” (Taoist principle) Here we see the loving kindness of the parables and teachings of Christ in the New Testament.

Finally; Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.” It was St. Augustine, who wrote in his 28 volumes, that the arc of life, always veers toward the truth (and Justice: Gandhi's basis for not taking arms against Hitler).

In a blog that I posted over 10 years ago, and often in writings before and after, I have spoken about the difference between wisdom and knowledge. Wisdom comes not only from actual experiences and observation's but only through eyes that are seeking the truth (Pythagoras had around 2,000 "seekers" in his academy in Italy.) and these comments from the Buddha:

“Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.”
