Living the good, if not great life

The mediterranean diet is a relatively lazy approach to optimum diet and nutrition. It reeks of a distasteful obedience to Rome, Caesar, and all that led to the fall of the Roman empire. Yes, olive oil is better than corn oil or cotton seed oil. Yes, hand made whole foods have many virtues. it is far from optimum, and look at how few Italians live well to 100: VERY FEW! The Middle Eastern Diet, The Indian Ayurvedic diet, and the Blue Zones have the truth.

Today, I fry some falafels, enhancing a pre-made falafel mix. I may produce a baba ganoush dip. Another video, tabouli, spanakopita and humus. There is a filo dough version of baklava that was my culinary instructors version. I will start posting ingredient needs as you can enjoy many vegetarian dishes from India, China, Japan, Native Tribes, Lebanon, Africa and South America.

Nutrition is so darn simple. Let go of the texts and revere traditions. Seek you individual relationships with foods and diet. Take time to calm your attitudes as you try to process your meals. No religion, no politics, no attitudes at the dinner table.
