Living the Good Life, Thursday's:

Few would argue that it is not better to get up on the good side of the bed, or to have a good hair day, yet we have our wrong-side-of-the-bed, bad-hair day mentality, know in some fields as transposition. When you name something, you are at risk to cease observing it, there is no wonder. The New Thought Movement, along with Holme's Church of Religious Science and the Fillmore's Unity church, put forth belief in the power of the mind, prayer and intention in impacting our life experience. Scientology and EST would take twisted sister versions of these principles while departing from conventional "church" purpose and operations. From this movement came the contemporary movement that includes the highly viewed "What the Bleep do we know?" and "The Secret" and a slew of books on the power of the mind, with intention.

The state of entry and exit from sleep, the pre dreaming state is referred to as reverie, a dreamy state. it is during this dreamy state that we have the opportunity to seed our dreams, or choose how we awaken. The morning reverie is of great importance to how I approach each day. A combination, "pre-flight" preparation, and review of current thoughts and intentions. Retained dreams may warrant their own attention, but most often, this review looks at the good versus wrong-side-of-the-bed focus of the moment. As sole navigator's of our lives, we can choose to turn the rudder with intention, or we can buckle up and hang on. With this easy wakening habit, I am now able to think upon the day ahead, prepare and adapt as needed.

I still get up on the wrong side, but not often. This practice will not cure over-riding medical or emotional disruption's of sleep. Hydration, and the dehydrated accumulations of normal toxin's can also influence the dream state and reverie, inflammation and pain are also factors that disrupt our ability to use good life intention with our evening and morning periods of reverie. I can pretty much guarantee that if you replace thoughts of the day's conflicts with some more loving content, your sleep will be easier and your dreams more comforting. When you take the time to find the good-side-of-the-bed in the morning reverie, you will blend into your day much more easily.
