Monday's Muse and Music:

As I thought about the muse's in the music industry during my "formative" years, I came up with Donovan and Harry Neilson. Donovan emerged with the Beatles, and Neilson made the scene in the early 70's, gaining high praise from George Harrison. My pod cast will feature them, both relatively unknown by today's crowd, they represented the soft and cuddly story teller's, themed around love.

Like Cat Steven's, they both wrote and sang scores for two of the counter culture films of the era. The story teller, as a troubadour, can make you laugh, make you cry or make you think. With the comfortable sound of these player, repetition can lead to subtle discoveries and actually stimulate cultural change. For me the three movies, Harold and Maude, The Point and Brother Sun, Sister Moon remain as core parts of my inner being. Then, when a random song comes on the air, I am transported to days of youth and discovery. Thank you father time, for threading the travel back through music, aroma, sights and other sounds. May we stay forever young.
