Music Monday's:

Almost every decade of the 20th century had waves of new sounds in music. From Rag Time, and John Phillip Souza, the 40's brought the big band sounds, the 50's had Jazz in the East with Coltrane and Davis, and the sounds of Nat King Cole and Tony Bennett on the West, with Frankie in between and Elvis emerging from the South. My generation, the 60's had the British Invasion and American Rock revolution.

The two most influential albums for me were the Beatles Sargent Pepper's and Jefferson Airplane's Surrealistic Pillow. Each of these albums was noted at the time for its unique departure from the movement, with a circling of classical sounds and expressions. Today's music features two songs from surrealistic pillow, as per special request of a listener. My last 11 days of clean out and moving, my blogs, like this one may be short, until I'm set up in my new location.
