Saturday's Spoken Word.

The Screwtape Letter's is a highly respected, but lessor know book by C.S.Lewis. Screwtape, the antagonist, is a demon, who see's human's as subjects to control, destroy, lead astray. The book looks into what create's lives that go astray, addiction, disease, and the losses that occur when we seek the wrong pursuit's.

About 15 years ago, I gave a 4 week sermon on mental health concerns. I started with the easy conditions, like anxiety, fear, neurosis and psychosis. Then to depression, PTSD and bi-polar conditions. The final sermon dealt with the more challenging and complex conditions of Schizophrenia and demonic possessions. Western medicine doesn't have a very good track record with schizophrenia, and most often deny's demonic possessions. Within the western ranks of medicine, there are many individual's who are convinced of the presence of demonic possession. I fall into this latter group, with extensive church related studies in exorcisms and demonic clearance. What you know, you know, what you don't know, you don't know. Once you know something for your own satisfaction, you rarely change your view's. So, there is pressure with the conventional scientific community to deny and and all unmeasurable condition. Why not?; modern science lives on the measurable predictability of events.

Science also deny's the possibility of angel's, yet the majority of American's individually believe in angels. This might present a problem for a society's continued existence, were it not for the long standing riff's between different faiths and different religion's. We can just look at science as we might look at scientology, or religious science, or the door-to-door Witnesses and Mormon's. "No Thank's", I don't care to join your club. And we go about our business.

Homeopathy has a few remedy's that are called Miasm's and fit the picture of demonic possession, some passed from parent to child. I have read and know of people, who unconsciously received curses, and I have know 2 healer's who came for 30-plus generation of healer's, and it take's someone like these to face off with the most powerful demons. I also did a lot of primary care, with environmental medicine as a necessary part of wholistic therapeutics. Black mold's have the ability to craft a Mad Hatter, as does mercury. Sort of like the black pool that consumed "7" in Star Track, over the decade's I came to sense that there was a nefarious element, a dark life form, that existed in these primitive and elemental structures. And in this analogy, we once again find Screwtape. As do most of Lewis' works, there is a moral and there are practices to help you deal with both the outer world influence's and your own inner work in maintaining the best decisions and actions. Well worth the read.
