Spoken word Saturday:

"Fear of Failure"? or fear of success"?. Throughout my childhood, I heard the expression, "fear of failure", but in the 70's there was posed the position, that fear of failure is actually a fear of success. At first it seemed lame, then revealed it's truth, as another form of lack of trust or confidence in ourselves. If we trusted our walk, we would walk tall and with great success, but there's a little voice inside that say's what if?

I think it was Walt Whitman who shared a story, that a Colonist was trying to explain good versus evil to a tribal chief. The chief finally in good, versus bad, angels and devil's related a tribal faith. He said, we also have similar influences, a good dog, versus a bad dog. When the colonist asked who win's, the chief replied the dog we feed more than the other. The importance of learning to control our thought's or accentuating the positive.

A distant cousin once said, "the only thing we have to fear, is fear, itself". Given a choice, would you rather swing from a star, and be so much better off than you are?, or would you rather fall to earth. The feeding of the dog, is choosing to live in pandemonium, resonate with the negative, and hang out with mister in-between. The bad dog elevates fight or flight adrenalin, taxes our internal nutrition, interrupts sleep and often leads us down the wrong path. The bad dog snarls, shows aggression, and takes what is not their's. The good dog cuddles, lays on it's back for rubs, is loyalty incarnate and helps us navigate our live's. So its as simple as hang with the cuddle'r, choose good dog friends, and don't let the bad dog in. Today's pod cast includes, Bad bad Leroy Brown, Accentuate the Positive and Color my world. Namaste
