Sunday's celebration: Gratitude

Knowing the humorous dance between philosophy and language, I quipped at the end of today's gathering, that this may be the most grateful moment in human history. By now, most of you should know that Frederick Nietzsche's "if it doesn't kill you, it will make you stronger" was a central theme of the lives and practices of the Stoic's some 2,400 years earlier, and then found within the writing's of CS Lewis, with a Christian bent. From this perspective, the above phrase of gratitude is realizing that perhaps man/womankind has never faced such universal unrest, adversity, and threat of catastrophic consequences.

Philiopathy is a word I crafted out of two Greek word's from the time of the founding father's of stoicism. I went through a patent, copyright law firm, and received the patent and trademark for this new word, comprising the word's philio and pathos from ancient Greece. Philio is one of the words for love in the New Testament, that love and empathy we feel for family and friends. Pathos is the presence of empathy. Philiopathy literally means compassionate care, a definition, with a brief definition of this philosophy also registered with the US patent office. It was one of the final steps of a 10 development of what I registered in Oregon as the Institute of Advanced Paradigm's. 25 student's 10 faculty, the board and administration chose by unanimous consensus the "church" name "Home of Loving Spirit". IAP taught philiopractic philosophy and practice to enrolled student's with an elder, mentorship principle for both faculty and student. All faculty were volunteer, and the student tuition was a plan to devote equal time to serving a good cause or doing good work for other's. We were in our 3rd run through the curriculum, when I went down and both non-profit's went down as well. Hopefully after arriving to a new home in Brooking's I will re-register both HLS and IAP; for now Sunday's on the blog and podcast, I will share principles of philiopathy. Nature, healing, energetic and psyschic healing, and the list truly goes on. I will continue to embed the core curriculum of HLS and IAP in thr HLS website: HomeofLovingSpirit.com
