As I was considering today's topic, a second variable occurred to me and led me to this addendum. I have not found a similar arrogance in Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, or Islam's doctrine's, however, I do find it in the Catholic Church, with its Papal and human changes and interpretations of the Bible.
"ism" is a suffix appearing in loanwords from Greek, where it was used to form action nouns from verbs (baptism). On this model, -ism is used as a productive suffix in the formation of nouns denoting action or practice, state or condition, principles, doctrines, a usage or characteristic, devotion or adherence, etc criticism. These Greek loanwords include racism, militarism, chauvinism, patriotism, capitalism, as well as Judaism and Catholicism.
