When you consider the differences between man and animals, many of the old standard's have fallen with field observations, and laboratory or penned challenges. Not that long ago, when I was young (ok, so 60 years is long in some ways). fisherman after fisherman would say "fish don't feel pain", the flailing isn's pain. We have many truthful stories about gorilla's being creative, learning words and sign language, and the differences in Hollywood's use of horses and animals has been maybe the most significant change in how we view animals.
Animals basically fall into three human categories, pets and companion's, domesticated animals for work and food, and finally those that don't interact much with humans. The process of domestication is a counter evolutionary change for the animals. How we treat our domesticated animals dictates what we see and know them. For pets, especially dogs and cat's our relationship is hopefully more like human to human, than human to animal. We share qualities of our pet's in conversations, qualities like really smart, really fast, very friendly, or you better pick up your kid, We see much more of who they are than we did when they a pack of dang erous wild animals.
At the same time in the world, that Israel is treating Palestinians like hollywood did in the early 20th century. We also have Kristi Noem, shooting her dog, then a goat and then 3 horses and saying it represents her unwomanly power in decision and action.We have similar responses throughout the world, and somehow, as a species, we fail to see our implicit cause and effect's, and we fail to change. Human's have seen time and again throughout history that they can not domesticate prisoner's, slaves and indigenous cultures. You can teach people a whole array of skills that would not have evolved had they been born, even a few hundred years ago. But at birth and at death, the changes of life are almost entirely due to aging and truama, and the person is exactly the same person that was present at birth.
Opinion of the day. Look at others as exactly who you and your immediate family are. The changes of humanity that came after the ice age, resulting is discernible differences in of people around the world, are so slight on the evolutionary time line, that it is only opinion that allows any belief in a non-cultural, or physical difference.
