Wednesday's: Opinion's, news and commentary

From Plato's the cave, and the mythological archetype of Prometheus; today's commentary and opinions. The allegory of discovery and infamy. Society thrives on blind acquiescence and "norms", of at least general consensus. When, through a journey, a new truth is found, few rush to greet it with open arms. It requires caution, wisdom and thoughtfulness to introduce "radical" new ideas to a broader public. Sometime's it requires a period of absolute silence.

The greater the "untruth", the higher the risk, as change don't come easy in the annals of time. I have always embraced finding out I am wrong about something/anything. Not only am I freed of carry around an "untruth", but I have a new view and perspective of my world. It causes one to wonder, why holding onto old ideas, even when wrong, is better than change.

Caution, wisdom and thoughtfulness are part of the equation, as well as the silence. When change challenges imperial interest's, the messenger is at extreme peril and risk. Thoughtfulness considers the audience, effective communication, and the best times and places for discourse. Caution includes the risk versus benefits of so many industries. Is it important (how so?) to be an influencer? What positive change could come from your words or actions? What impacts would this have on the community as a whole. Wisdom includes the qualities of determination, inner strength and humility. Finally, we, as humans are creatures of habit, and change from our perceived comfortable perch's is not an enticing proposition.

We have numerous global conflicts going on, and in almost all situations at least one side of the conflict has an authoritarian ruler whose strong tactic's suppress opposition. When something appears totally unacceptable, but imperial autocracy ignores outside influence and internal protest, then what to do? One of the stoic's principle's understand what you can control, and what you have no influence over. So when power, suppresses the kingdom, you always have power over your mind, thought's and actions. Watchful observency and patience are your best friends.
